Faith & Norman Gumma’s Story

36 seconds in total and a lifetime taken away in just one second.

This August, our beautiful Faith, her husband Norman, and two year old son Elijah were in a terrible accident that took the life of Faith and her unborn child, and left Norman with a severe brain injury. Miraculously, Eli survived with minimal injuries.

For those who had the privilege of knowing Faith and Norman personally, their infectious smiles and unconditional love made them truly special—their energy was unmatched. They radiated positivity and touched the lives of everyone around them.

They both shared a love for EDM and we know the love in the EDM community is unparalleled to any other. Now, even in the face of tragedy, it is important to continue to share their story and inspire others. Love and support in numbers trumps all!

Updates: Norman’s Health

Norman is currently undergoing rehabilitation at a facility in Grand Rapids, MI. However, his time there will conclude on December 13th.

Compounding the situation, the family's request for coverage at another facility in Detroit was denied. The first year following a traumatic brain injury is pivotal for therapy and recovery, and this unfortunate circumstance could significantly hinder Norman's progress. Currently, he has limited ability to move his body below the neck. He is unable to speak and relies on subtle up and down eye movements and limited head motions as his primary means of communication.

After careful consideration, we have identified Shirley Ryan, one of the nation's premier rehabilitation facilities situated in Chicago, Illinois, as the optimal setting for his ongoing healing. Regrettably, his insurance does not encompass his stay at this facility, and the type of therapy he requires is long-term.
